It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas everywhere you go…and your family is in town, the fireplace is going, food is cooking in the kitchen, and the delicious aromas of Christmas dinner wafts throughout the house while memories are shared and created this Christmas season. During all of this, may we also remember that God gave us Jesus and never forget that the gift of a Savior was and is the ultimate gift to humanity. He is the gift that continues to give all throughout the year and beyond. YES, salvation…YES, we should be spiritually connected to God! He gave us our lives, our bodies, our health, too. Therefore, we should seek to honor God with what He has given us. And health is one thing many of us forget at Christmas.
“For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body
and in your spirit, which are God’s.”
I Corinthians 6:20
We are to honor God in our bodies. This Christmas season, one of the best gifts we can give to God and our families is to take care of this vessel of flesh that we have been blessed with. Sure we have issues, problems, and stress but ultimately God wants us to live a life of wholeness in every area, not just spiritually. Our health, which includes exercise and our food intake, is a great place to start in honoring God this Christmas season. I have linked my wife's blog article “OOPS” and my “Holiday Eating Tips” for you to read, in case you missed them before the holiday season. These articles will give you tips on how to overcome overeating and what to do when the holiday or any event has food. Learning to honor God in your health is one of the BEST gifts you can give to Him and your loved ones.
My Thot: is a challenge to you this holiday season to not only remember the spiritual aspects that our Savior's birth brought, but also the aspect of wholeness in all areas: Physically, Spiritually, Mentally, Emotionally, Relationally and even Financially. MERRY CHRISTMAS from my family to yours. Comment below and don’t forget to SUBSCRIBE to receive blog updates in your inbox.
